My full debut into music and filmmaking. Not an incredible one, in my retrospective opinion, but we all start somewhere. "I've Been Here Before" is a visual double-album that I started working on when I was 16. This extremely ambitious project was an attempt at capturing a very specific and personal aesthetic emotion that has been present throughout my life, without me being able to fully understand or describe it. Working on this album, I was initially inspired by Japan's Shibuya-kei scene and, later on, the whole internet dreamcore/weirdcore aesthetic.
The project definitely has its charm and its highlights, but I think somewhere along the way I lost sight of my initial goal of capturing that feeling. Though it was a feat I'm proud to have accomplished at the time, I look forward to trying again in the future.
